Puppy Play Time
I can't believe the puppies are already 5 1/2 weeks old! On Sunday they will be 6 weeks and ready to head to their new homes. If you are interested in a pup please email or call me so we can make arrangements for delivery or pickup. They are all adorable, and all of them have the sweetest personalities, are playful, and loving. Here is a peek at yesterday's evening playtime.
After a meal of puppy mush they have a rush of energy and they run and run and try to tackle Molly, chewing on her ears and tail. She is a very patient and long suffering mother.
We give them a variety of things to play with, but sometimes they like to play with anything, even their feeding dish, which is a pie tin.
Or a leaf...
...or a golf ball.
But they especially like to play with each other.
Each time they go out to play they are more adventurous. They were particularly fascinated with the flower bed. It's so fun to watch them discover their world for the first time.
And then they start to slow down a little...
...and get tired and ready for naptime.
After a little sleep they will repeat the process, each day going a little further, each day getting a little bigger.
I just love their sweet puppy faces, and the way they snuggle my neck, and yes, they still have that sweet puppy breath.
Wishing you a day filled with sweet puppy love. Don't we all wish we had their puppy energy?!

We went through life with puppies last summer when our rescued Beagle mix, Molly, gave birth to 9 puppies 3 days after my husband found her wandering alone in the desert. She was starving, emaciated, dehydrated, covered with ticks and had been burned in places. The puppies all found wonderful homes by the age of 3 months and Molly has a forever home with us.
